Basic Guide to rotary cut Quilts by Marianne Fons and Liz Porter. Welcome to the pleasures of patchwork! We love making quilts for our
homes--wall quilts, baby quilts, bed-sized quilts--and we know you will
too. It's “sew" much fun.
If you've never made a quilt before--this book is for you. We have geared it to help you get started with quick rotary cutting methods, easy machine sewing, and speedy quilting techniques to make your first quilt, and, hopefully, many more. Included in our Getting Started section are tips on buying fabric and acquiring the basic tools you need to begin. We also tell you how to set up your sewing machine for accurate stitching results. Nine Patchwork Lessons teach you how to make the nine blocks used in the projects pictured in the book. We've included step-by-step photos and illustrations to make learning as easy as possible. Making Your Quilt A Quilt tells you how to turn your patchwork into a real quilt by layering it with batting and backing, quilting it, and finishing the edges. Piecing patchwork quilts used to involve meticulous tracing around templates and hours of laborious cutting with scissors. Not any more! The methods we've used in this book--rotary cutting, making strip sets, stitching "diagonal seams", machine piecing, and machine quilting--are used by modern quilters everywhere to make quilts quickly to decorate their homes and keep their loved ones warm. |

The Perfect Patchwork System V2 by Marti Michell. ?Perfect Patchwork Templates are very common sizes and a
perfect match for many pattern pieces in your favorite quilt books. The Strip Cutting Charts on the inside front and back
covers and on pages 43 and 44 are very helpful in determining which templates are the right size for projects in other books.
Don't forget-if you own the book, you may write in it! Write the permanent template identification number on the appropriate
piece.
The main advantage of the Perfect Patchwork System books is that the designs are sorted to coordinate with the templates. In other books, you will have to determine which templates match the pattern pieces, if all the shapes you need are available, and the size of the finished block. That isn't true in this book. Here you will find a collection of 81 patchwork designs that can be made with Set A and its related Bonus Set C and/or Set B and its Bonus Set D. |

The Perfect Patchwork System V3 by Marti Michell. ?Piecing a Perfect Eight-Pointed Star is Possible
If you love 45' diamonds but have trouble getting a flat eight-pointed star, Set E to the rescue' And Vohime 3 for inspiration'
The precision-engineered corners of From MARTI MICHELL Perfect Patchwork Templates make precise alignment of pieces a snap.
Set E has laser-cut holes so you can mark where the seams intersect. Combined with dot-to-dot machine piecing, your stars
will be flat, with perfect seams and pointy points! Time and time again, as I travel around the country teaching Perfect Patchwork
techniques, I hear students say, "This is the first time I've ever made a flat eight-pointed star on the first try!" You can do it,
too.
Quilters have loved star patterns from generation to generation. Many of the designs in this book have been taken from antique quilts. You'll also learn string-piecing and how to use striped fabric to make stars really sparkle. Not all the blocks are stars- you will also find baskets and flowers, a pinwheel and diamonds. Their common denominator is a 45' diamond. |
